Welcome to the I Am Dot Dot Dot podcast, the podcast for busy mums who want to consume useful shit for their biz and their life. Here we tackle the things we know are holding mums and women back in their business. We're not afraid to tackle the big shit, the bullshit and the good shit. We go from mum guilt to confidently learning how to kick ass in this digital space. We will discuss the world of digital marketing and share life's tips and tricks for getting it done. As six-figure business owners with over 10 years of digital marketing and brand experience, and mums to young kids, we get it, we share it and we own it. So buckle up and let's go. Let's go. I think we did it the stream, didn't we? I don't know. That was really good, we'll be right. Welcome to the I Am Dot Dot Dot podcast, the podcast for busy creators who want to consume useful shit for their biz and their life. I'm Kristen Werner and today, surprisingly, still joined with Mia. What up? Still, I'm still here One year on. I know, still here, still living your best life. Yes, yes, still potting. So how are we this week, mia? What's going on? Yeah, good, good, it's a people-free day today. That I didn't know about it, but that's always the case. Tell people what happened there, mia. Go and tell them I thought it was just a getting dressed and you know the whole. Put your shoes on, put your shoes on, put your shoes on, put your shoes on uh yeah, and raced out the door up to school and no one was there and I'm like what's going on? I haven't checked the 17 apps, have I? No, 57 emails and the kids obviously don't tell you these things, and so it's good. It's good, yeah, yeah, that was that's good morning. How about yourself? Mine didn't. Mine was actually all right. I did the school drop off, had assembly, it was quite cruisy, and then you sent me a message like just taking the kids home because they're not school, like lol, that's the kind of mom I am. So I was like I get it, mate. Oh, I fucking. Yeah, I'm who cares. We're recording a podcast today. They're just going to walk in, so that's fine. I know. I said to you like I've got this posse of mums now that know that I'm the useless mum, that just like I've got lots of my shit together. But when it comes to that stuff, I'm like there's too much information. Just give me the. So they're like, hey, you know, like tomorrow's, like this day, I'm like nope, but thank you very much. Thank you, yep. I need that. I need a mom group like that. Oh, it's a good time.
Speaker 1:So, mia, what are we going to be crackalacking on today? What do we want to share today? How are you feeling today? I am feeling a bit tech challenged. Oh, we can't have that. I'm not really. But, um, you're definitely not. You're high end on the tech. You're fine, but I never used to be. I never used to be, and what we're going to talk about today, I wish that it existed seven years ago when I started my first very own online business and we are talking all things stand store, yes, linking bios. So if you've never heard what a stand store is, we're going to break it down today because is one piece of software that's probably going to change your whole business, to be honest, and it's certainly one piece of software that I remember when I first started my TikTok journey, because it was like it wasn't really known or big on Instagram, yeah, and I remember I got onto TikTok and I'm like watching all these creators be like oh yeah, just go the link in my bio, just head up to my stand store, I was like what the fuck is this stance or?
Speaker 1:And then I was like I googled it and everything comes up as like Stan, the, the tv thing or whatever. And I was like no, that's where they're doing it, like what's going on. And then stumbled across one of the creators talking about it and actually explaining it was like damn. And then I was hooked, like I think I'm good. And I was like 14 days free. Okay, let's go, I can cancel. After that got to 14 days, I was like, oh, if I can not cancel this, this is life. Two and a half years later, still using it. And I was the same when I started my UGC journey.
Speaker 1:Everyone had this stand store on TikTok and I just thought, well, I need to set up a link in bio and you know, you sort of go link tree. That's pretty basic. And then I was the same, jumped on the stand. So I thought this is amazing. I set up my entire business in like 20 minutes. Yeah, I know, and especially from, I suppose, the reason that we wanted to share the stand store with you today a, we're both stand ambassadors and you know, when it comes to affiliate programs. When it comes to being an ambassador for something that you truly believe in, it's something that stand, whether they pay you as an affiliate or not, I'd still spruik to the high heels, because it's just for creators.
Speaker 1:It's such a beautiful platform because how many times have you gone to create something? You're like, oh wait, okay, well, I need a website. So I better get the website done and get the website perfect. Then, once the website's done, then I get the email marketing Then done and I get the website perfect. Then, once the website's done, then I get the email marketing. Then, once that's done, then I'll get this, and then that's what we like to call in the creative world procrastination. Yeah, that is avoiding Procrastinationism too. You want to make it perfect and link everything together and do all these landing pages, and in the end, that stuff kind of doesn't really matter. It's all about the customer journey and making it easy for them, and that's what Stan does.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and I think the best thing about it is John, the creator. He created it because he couldn't find a platform. I wish I had him come into the membership and speak to our members. So generous with his time and information, great guy, and he came in and he was basically, he is a creator and he couldn't find a solution for this. And so, like we tell you all the time, if there is a problem and you have a solution for it, create something for that, because there are people that are going to use that. He did literally have that as a content creator and as a creator himself, didn't see a good solution for how to sell your digital products, how to sell your services online. So it's a service and it's a platform made by creators for creators. So it works incredibly well for that purpose. So you know, that's that's front and foremost of kind of their marketing and their messaging is it's made by creators for creators. So, and you can tell too, like the team at Stan, they're all very creative and they're so down to earth and approachable and because they are creators themselves, they understand what we are going through and how we want to run our business, because they do the same thing too. So it's something.
Speaker 1:If you're just getting into this online business world and you're a little bit tech challenged, a Stan store is such an easy way to set up everything that you need to get started straight away and the minute you put that Stan store on your LinkedIn bio. You can be earning money straight away. So it's pretty sweet. So if you've landed on a creator and they're saying things like LinkedIn bio, go and check my profile, click the link. That can look like a few different things On TikTok. Go and check my profile, click the link. That can look like a few different things On TikTok.
Speaker 1:If you have a kind of a private or a personal or creator account, you need a thousand followers to get your link inside that profile. Or you can use a business account and have a link from the get-go Inside Instagram. You can have a link at any time. But basically what that is is people will put a link to a website, a sales page, a landing page. There's Linktree, there's Beacon, basically all of those things like the Stancer itself. It's just a link to send people to your offers, to your services, to something that you have to share with them. So that's why many creators if you're kind of new to this game or you're just kind of in this space and you have heard people say, check my LinkedIn bio, go to my profile. That means go to their main page on their TikTok or their main page on their Instagram and click the link that's there.
Speaker 1:And usually what we want to share today is about Stan Store, because they've just launched a new feature which we're fully chuffed about. Fully chuffed about and want to share that with you. But that's what people are talking about. Is that link that's going to take you the person watching or listening to a service that they may be talking about, an option, a digital product, coaching, webinars, you name it. We're going to go through all of the things inside of Stan's store in it. But I suppose, like our journeys with Stan's store, I signed up originally when I first kind of started on TikTok and I'd created my digital product and I was like, okay, I want to sell it.
Speaker 1:And the process of setting it up creating the sales page, creating the copy you just set it up with, like it connects to Stripe, so that's where your payments get made. Then StanStore deal with all of that on the backend and they pay it in to your account and it's all set up. It's so, so easy. Create little thumbnails or there's thumbnails there, you don't even need to. I do suggest that you do, but you don't have to and you can brand it with your own branding, whether that's your personal branding or your business branding, and the setup itself is so incredibly easy.
Speaker 1:So I started with it and I think I started on the trial, went straight to the absolutely cannot live without it. And, on the trial, went straight to the absolutely cannot live without it. And then I remember John did a webinar and he said, for anybody that comments, whatever the word was, I'll send you the link and you can have it for $300 a year. And I was like, fuck, yeah, as Mia knows, I'm mad for a pay in full. I'm not mad for a month For me, it just kind of keeps me committed, like I'm here for the long game. It. It's also shot us in the foot, not gonna lie a couple times, that's okay. Yeah, lessons learned. So you like changing things. But I ended up signing up with Stan for the year with that particular offer that they had and then was made a Stan ambassador. So then that changed and obviously they then give you the profile for you to use and then share with your audience.
Speaker 1:So that's my journey with stan so far. And then, mia, do you want to share your? Sorry guys, I think I just swallowed nothing. Is there gonna be a bit of cheese stuck in the back of your throat. I wish it's probably chocolate. I'm not gonna lie, I just had some like chocolate coated almonds.
Speaker 1:Um, my stan journey, yeah, when I was doing egc, you know, a couple years ago, I was the same. I just jumped on this stand store that everyone had fell in love with it and started selling some digital products and thought, bloody hell, this is easy. And when I started to do my affiliate marketing, I started to build an email list, like it was getting big, like all these emails came in and after a while, john actually contacted me and he said, mate, we need to catch up. Like I think he could see on the backend that I was getting lots and lots of leads and you know um doing quite well on my stand store. And I, yeah, got offered a senior stand ambassador position with them and have been for a couple of years now.
Speaker 1:Um, which means I get my Stan store for free and they've got their ambassador program means that you can get 20% reoccurring commissions if someone else uses your Stan affiliate link to sign up, and I also get paid monthly by them to create content for them as well. And Stan store has just been part of my whole entire journey because it has made me fall in love with monthly recurring commission programs, monthly recurring income. It's just like this money that comes in on autopilot and it's beautiful and it means that I can pretty much, you know, use that commission money to pay for other subscriptions that I've got. I don't pay for Stan. It covers everything, so it's been really fantastic. And just the team at Stan I've always loved them because they're so approachable. You email them, they answer straight away. They just understand you. They take on all of the feedback We've had. You know, john, inside our membership to have a chat. We've also had Lauren. They're more than happy to come and help us out and talk to our members as well. So they've been fantastic. And even their dev team too, the development team. They take on all this feedback and, you know, continually improving Stan's Store features for us creators. So, yeah, I really really can't fault them.
Speaker 1:And if you're a creator and you do a bit of research, go to other creators profiles and click on their link in bio and see what they use, see what programs they use and see what you feel like. What's the customer journey? Is there too much going on? Do you have to click a million times to get to the destination. Like, take a look and then go and take a look at a stand store and you'll see how simple it is. It's laid out beautifully, it's very visual, very simple, not many clicks to get to where you actually want to go, which is, you know, less clicks is best. You're going to have people drop off if they have to click too many times to get to your thing and if there's too much stuff in the link and buy. That's a big turnoff too. So you've got to be careful not to fill your stand store up with a heap of stuff, because that's just too overwhelming. But just take note on how simple and beautiful stand looks, not only to the user but for yourself when you're setting up too.
Speaker 1:It's so goddamn simple and we'll touch on, maybe towards the end of the podcast just going over the important things that you want in your link bio and not to jam pack it, cause let me tell you there's some people that have got so much information in their LinkedIn bio that it is such an incredible turnoff that it's kind of like where do I go? I don't know where to go, so I'm just going to leave. And the second somebody leaves nine times out of 10, they're probably not coming back, and so we'll touch on that at the end, but first of all, let's just go through what Stan can actually offer you. So, as a creator and even when you were talking then, mia, I was thinking like the Stan, the Stan team are so incredibly supportive because they are creators and they're working for creators, so they're not like some big tech company that don't understand the shit we go through. They know.
Speaker 1:So when you say, oh, can I have xyz or I'd like this, like, oh, absolutely, why don't we think of that? Or yes, it's coming, or whatever that is, I think that's that, for me, certainly been the customer journey's been amazing. Yeah, so inside a stand store, you've got the ability to do so many things and there's two different options. There's the 29 option and there's a 99 a year, a month, sorry option. So you've got different things inside those two options, but mainly what it's built for is you can collect emails. So you really do like we've said before on the podcast your emails, you own them. You don't own your social media, so that can drop off at any time. You need to be funny to you, exactly, and you know, like even Mia and I, at this stage in the business and as we're growing, we kind of go to a launch like, oh okay, well, hang on, we haven't grown that many leads, so therefore our launch might not go as well as we think, because those leads and those people and you inside our community are the people that we want to continue serving. But that list needs to keep growing so that you can keep serving those people.
Speaker 1:So, collecting emails, you can create a digital product and then you can set up in stand store. You create it once and you can sell it over and over and over. And we have inside our stand store our monetizer kit and we'll tell you that about that at the end. But the monetizer kit itself is basically going to take you from idea to a profitable digital product within 30 days or less. So if you have, if you're listening to this and you're like digital product, create it once, sell it over. I have an idea. Well, that monetizing kit is absolutely something that you can use to do that. It's basically like a little mini course in a PDF with videos that talk through things. That helps you get your ideas out there.
Speaker 1:So once you've been through that, you can put your digital product inside the Stan store. Set it up with a sales page. It takes payments straight away. You can add your digital product inside the Stan store. Set it up with a sales page. It takes payment straight away. You can add images, you can add testimonials and all the things that you need. It's really really super simple. But then, once somebody's scrolled down, they just click pay. The payment's collected, you get paid.
Speaker 1:There's this button actually on Stancil which, I must admit, is my favorite button Cash out, the cash out. I love the like and everything. Yeah, I'm going to this part of the video will clip, because when I said that and you're like cash out, and it's like this, look on your face, cash out, because that button is the best. Like, you click that button and yeah, yeah, confetti comes out and that's basically just. Then it lands in your bank account two days later. It's fucking awesome. And when you get your very first sale and pressing that button, it's just like oh, my god, this actually works. Um, amazing, yeah, and even they've got it.
Speaker 1:Stuff like you can do webinars, you can do one-on-one coaching. There's so many options inside Stan. If you're not just selling a digital product, you might be selling a course. You can actually set up a whole entire course inside Stan store and put your videos and information and links to products and everything in Stan, and it just makes it so much more affordable because you don't have to go and pay for email marketing tools and payment processes and all this techie stuff that you've got to set up and spend hours and hours and hours building a website.
Speaker 1:I didn't have a website for a very long time, I just had a Stan store. That was it, and I stopped my website as soon as I started with Stan, I was like, well, I feel like paying for a website as well. No one's going there anyway. So, yeah, get rid of it. Um, and then the other thing that they are offering, which I'll let mia tell you about, because I wasn't able to be on the call because I thought it was the next day. Well, done me, but the replay is coming. But mia's got all the details around what stan are launching now, which we've heard about them, and we've heard them coming to the table with it. But now it's here and we've had a bit of a look at the back end. It's pretty fucking cool.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes, so I was on call, a live call with stan, the stan team and lots of other ambassadors and abigail paloo I don't I can never say her last name, palau paloo. She's made over a million dollars with her stan store, so she was doing a little bit of a presentation about their new feature, stan communities. So they have released a new upgrade to Stan where you can host your own free or paid community, which we freaking love because we love building communities, memberships, reoccurring income and now you can do that with Stan as well, and it's actually freaking fantastic. You can post videos, you can post links, you can do voice notes, you can host all of your community members inside there and they'll have access to the resources that they've already bought, or you can add new resources, put your zoom links in there to catch up with people. It's just a fantastic way to host basically your entire business in one single platform for one price. And the great thing about Stan they don't go and make you pay more and more and more the more leads you get or the more products you get. It's kind of unlimited.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, we're frothing on the new community feature that is going to be released to everybody else in September. At the moment, only ambassadors have access to it. But, yeah, we can tell you now that it's pretty sweet and so it's something that obviously, mia and I are really passionate about helping you transform your audience into a paid community, because it's such an incredible thing to build a presence online and build your brand online and create an audience that you've got connection with and you can share all this wonderful stuff with them. But there comes a point where you, as a creator, go you know what I'm loving serving this audience and now I want to give them more, and having a paid community is such an incredible way to do that, and that could be a membership, it could be a subscription, it could be just a community, but it's a paid community where you give your community members, your membership, more of what you've got to help them get through members, your membership, more of what you've got to help them get through, to help serve them. Whatever your genre, your niche, you can serve them in that way, and so, by Stan, adding this into their platform is such an incredible way of them realizing that. Okay, content creators are building these incredible audiences. Now they can get paid for these audiences in reoccurring revenue, monthly reoccurring revenue, monthly reoccurring revenue and be in a community.
Speaker 1:It's kind of like it's like a facebook group, but it actually works. Because if you've grown a facebook group, there's some testing shit that goes down with facebook groups, like they can really test the soul. Yeah, they're not great. I mean the thing with facebook people already on it, that's. That's basically the only up to that having a community on there. But the thing is with stand store and we say to all the people in our membership, if they're quite new in their journey, they're like oh, which way should I go? How do I do this? And we're like seriously, just get a stand store. Like it just makes it so much easier. And when you're beginning the whole idea of like, oh, I've got to set up a funnel and I've got to collect emails and I've got to do like, how do I do all this? Stan, just step it out, click a few buttons and it's done. And with that $99 program, the monthly program, you can have your emails in there. So, for example, if you're like, okay, well, 99 feels a bit steep. Well, let's just step out.
Speaker 1:If you have a website that's potentially, let's just go off some of the numbers. I remember when I paid for my Wix website. That itself was, I think, 250 US a year, right. And then I had email marketing. At the time I was using MailerLite. That was free, but I was getting to the point where I was needing to the paid version.
Speaker 1:So you're going to need an email marketing system because they're just a little bit more advanced and sometimes the websites can offer. So you're going to need that. And then you're going to need a payment system which is either going to run through your website but usually it's Stripe but then you could use PayPal, but do you use something else? And then you need kind of where your email marketing service to be all set up and set up your funnels and all that kind of stuff. Where, on that $99 payment a month with Stan, they help you set up. Like you can tag your email marketing, you can create funnels, you can do upsells. So if you sell a digital product and people get to the checkout and you have like a complimentary something to that product, you can add on there the upsell, so they click on that button and they get the next thing included. And then you can add all the website, add all the email information in the flow, so they've done it all for you.
Speaker 1:And then the community aspect of it too. Just from what we seen in the back end that we've been playing around looking with, it just makes sense like you can voice message and voice note as the creator, your members and things like that that sometimes just make it easier. You can add your products, the products people have bought from you, or inside that community, like everything just clicks and works together. Um, there's a like if you're doing coaching or Zoom calls, you can connect your Zoom into your Stanster as well. So if somebody clicks for a one-on-one meeting with you and picks a time, they pick a time. The Zoom link's all created for you. So they notify you and, yeah, they do everything for you.
Speaker 1:And I mean you might you might not want to do a paid membership as such, but you might be selling a digital product or a mini course and then on the back end of that, you're connected to a freestand community and all of a sudden you've got these people in this community that you can connect with, you can sell other products to, you can nurture them. So, yeah, their community feature is just a bit of a game changer for creators, because now you get to turn your audience into a paid community, which we freaking love. Yes. So I suppose, if nothing else, if it comes to like the pros and cons, let's do a quick pros and cons in terms of why we love a standstill so much is the ease the ease of setup, the ease of transactions, the ease of, if there's something goes wrong, asking their community and getting it solved pretty quickly. So for me that's not really a con, not in that aspect. No, no, I mean for the, for the person who's setting it up and the end user, the user design, the easeability is that a word? Easeability, yeah, that'll do, That'll do. You know what I mean is just perfect for that. And now that they've got the community function, you don't have to go and set up a free Facebook group or worry about. You know, if I've got a Facebook group and they stop paying me monthly, then I've got to go in and remove them from the Facebook group. You know the Stan community feature is. You know you're getting the monthly recurring income from Stan. If they stop paying, you know they'll be removed from the community.
Speaker 1:I guess one con that I can think of and this is when you get down the track into your business is eventually you're probably going to need some type of website along the lines. But when you're beginning like we just had a standstill, I just had a standstill for a good couple of years Depends on really what you're doing. But I mean, yeah, they don't have a website builder functionality yet, but really for what we're doing and creators on TikTok and Instagram, it's, yeah, pretty much all you're going to need for a good while. Yeah, and even just you know I was just thinking about and I've got a stand store linked to the wedding business, for example. So for those of you, I also have a bespoke wedding business that we do just a few weddings a year.
Speaker 1:But that particular stand store on it has the brochure. So if somebody lands on it they get the brochure download of the weddings and what that looks like and all of that. So then there's an email funnel from there that's set up that says you know, here's your brochure and then if you're still curious how to you know plan a wedding, then I've got my paid little planner that they can purchase from there, as well as a free, complimentary kind of smaller planner. So that's in that email funnel, that email system, and then in the Stan store they can either go to the Facebook page and see it. They can go to the website and they can go to the Instagram and see what it looks like, as well as a paid PDF, a digital product that is, a wedding planning guide and a free wedding calendar. So they're things for a product.
Speaker 1:Well, yeah, product based business, I suppose in terms of it's a wedding venue, but in the Stan store it still leads people to a freebie, a free download, a paid download and a venue kind of offer as well as the website. So it's like a little mini website in itself that takes people where I want to funnel them in order of that. I suppose we'll probably touch on that now. It's good timing in terms of what can be in that link in buyer, what should be if you choose a standstill, what should be in that when people land on it to not overwhelm them and actually take them on a journey in that. So, like I'll just go off the wedding one for right now, the first thing that I'm kind of suggesting people do is get the brochure for our venue. So that would be the yeah, that would be the first thing that I want them to get, because I know that in the email sequence as they go through, they get three emails. I'm still going to offer them the paid how to plan your wedding, the wedding planning guide and the free calendar. So they're still in there, so they don't need to keep going down the stance, or, if they don't want to, or they could, so just you know, you've got the free venue itself, because that's what we are, and then it's got a free 12 month I think it's a Google Doc planner and then a paid actual ebook a beautiful ebook that you can plan a wedding. So then there's a Google Doc planner and then a paid actual e-book a beautiful e-book that you can plan a wedding. So then there's a paid things. That's very nice.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know, I know that we have strong feelings about too much in a stand store. Yeah, just a bit All of your strong feelings. So do I actually I'm not going to lie. It does give me a bit of shit. It's too much clutter. Don't be giving me all your shit. Yeah, you don't want to get on there and just sell absolutely everything that you've got, because you can, and we've had multiple sessions with the stand team and they highly recommend having a freebie, a low ticket, a mid ticket and then perhaps a high ticket that might be a one-on-one coaching session or a high ticket course, and keeping in mind that even if you've got lots of other products that you might like to sell, you can sell them in funnels in your email sequence down the track, because you need to nurture them. So try and hold off on putting everything that you want to sell on your stand store, because the minute that your customer gets confused and you're not taking them on that journey or following up with emails, they're gone, they're out of there. So less is best, because I think it's isn't the saying a confused mind doesn't buy, it's also thinking about you as a customer, your journey.
Speaker 1:So that's why amia said before go to other people's stand stores, go to their links. What do they have in there? What do you like, what don't you like? What do you? Do you get on there and see 50 things and go fuck, I'm out? Or do you get on there and see one thing and go well, are they selling anything Like where do you? Sit on that and just think about your personal customer journey, because that'll help you understand what might work for you or might not work for you.
Speaker 1:So you know, we certainly recommend, and when we were talking to Lauren from StanSource, she recommended, you know, have your freebie. Maybe that's the first thing people see. Is that free, answering people's problems and giving them something? Yeah, grow that email list. Or I think we've got our podcast at the top because we want to be able to send people there and then goes down to the free things and then look at, maybe, like Mia said, the mid-tier, the higher ticket.
Speaker 1:And also one thing that Stan do say is if you've got lots of freebies, say, but they complement each other, or you've got lots of paid pdfs, paid digital products sorry, that complement each other, you could do a bundle and sell that as a particular bundle. So you know, you know there's options for you. But just take a look at your own personal buying habit, your own personal download habit, and kind of apply that to your Stan store in this whole process. Yeah, yeah, so. So, yeah, that's a Stan store for you. If you want to try Stan, they have a 14-day free trial and for the month of August, if you sign up to Stan store using our affiliate link, we are going to give you our monetizer kit absolutely free, which is going to get you started quickly on building your own first digital product and getting that up on your stand store quick, smart, so you can start earning some passive income and start monetizing your audience. It's kind of a no-brainer. Do the 14-day free trial, see what you think, and we can pretty much guarantee that you'll love it and you'll turn into a paying customer. Yeah, because it might be that you take that free trial and then you can just play around in there, you can see what's possible, you can see how easy it is, and then you can start looking at what other programs don't you need anymore that Stan now does and things like that. So that's why that 14 day trial is just absolutely brilliant. So we'll put those details in the show notes. So if you click that affiliate link link, then you can join up through stan and if you do, we'll send you our monetizer kit, like mia said, because, yeah, we're just super keen on you seeing the power of creating a digital product, creating it bloody well and then turning it into money over and over and over and over again, easily with all, without all that techie techie stuff.
Speaker 1:You're a little bit of a tech technically challenged. Um, are you also, uh, challenged? Yes, technically challenged. It is the platform for you all, right. Well, shall we wrap it up with our loves? And don't love wrap it up? So that was my rap. Oh, we've got sound effects on this one, haven't we? Yeah, I should go find the wiki. Wiki, it would take me 10 minutes to find a sound and I'm like cool, good joke, she just sung it. Challenged.
Speaker 1:Also, what are your loves this week? Oh, what am I love? So my don't love this week, which I believe is going to be every week of my life, is washing. Can I just stop? It's just like like, is there ever a point in your life where you go, oh, there's nothing to wash in this house, that's good. No, we just got a dryer recently and oh my god, it's a game. Like. We used to have a dryer, but then we got rid of it when we sold, everything went around the country and we just bought another one. Now I'm just like, oh, this is so good because I can just leave it in the dryer for a little bit. Yeah, and I feel like that's what happens, is it stays on the line, the dryer, and then the basket. And then I'm like, oh, the basket's full. I was like, oh, I have to put them in the way in the bedroom and then it starts again. I just don't enjoy it, it's not my jam. And it's funny because I've got two of and they froth over washing to the point where they said to me I know, fucking, slow down and sit down. I know, I know. And they said to me I remember before I had kids or maybe when I had kids can't remember and they said you will just, I bet you'll find a time where you actually really it's quite therapeutic, you'll really enjoy it. Nah, fucking nah, I actually think I think my Nana likes it too. She used to like fold knickers and iron them and like just make it all beautiful. I mean, my mum loves it. She's mad for a bit of a wash and a put away and yay for her. I didn't get that, jean Did not get it. I'm not interested. So that's my don't love this week, because it just seems to be fine and because it's kind of cold, it's nothing's drying. We do have a dryer, but yeah, it's just. I'm just over it. So that's my don't love, but my loves is okay.
Speaker 1:So I started a bit of a. I'm turning 40 series on TikTok. I just, I'm just talking about just fun shit. That happened when we were younger and I've really been enjoying jumping into and looking at images of all this shit we used to do. Are you on that Facebook page that 90s, yeah Facebook page? Yeah, yeah. And so if you've got anything that like is of that era that you like, please dm me, because I'm really enjoying just creating videos about it, because tiktok's lost its fucking mind. So I'm like I'm just gonna have fun with it and, turning 40, I'm gonna go back into the dark ages and, um, just find out some funny shit that we used to. Actually, somebody commented today did you, were you ever mad for a bit of body shot? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:So in my, in my youth, like around the I reckon, the 90s, early 2000s, when you buy somebody always had the lippy and there was a perfume. It was called like peach something and it fucking stunk. But at the time I was like, oh, it's so good and that's what you give everybody. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I didn't impulse one the other day and that's like, because the girl was like she commented saying that she used to spray herself an impulse and then put Body Shop oil on. I'm like, oh my God, and you'd use like one bottle of impulse per day and I was so fucking wrong. Yeah, so I'm loving that. So if anybody's got any like throwback to the 80s, 90s, early 2000s, like hit me with it, because I'm really enjoying it. I honestly think I think we were the luckiest generation. To be honest, I'm scared for our kids. Well, and because I've heard a couple of people talk about we were the last generation that didn't have phones and so we kind of bridged that gap and I was like best fucking time ever, mate. So good, yeah, I did this morning.
Speaker 1:Did you ever wear pedal pushers? Oh, what are they? Oh, they're fucking gross and they're not the reefs. No, no, they were pants, but they were. Just they cut you across the knee, not under the knee, not over the knee, across the knee, and they were tight and they were called pedal pushers, as in like bike pants. But not, they were pants. They were as if you were wearing jeans that forgot to grow, tight jeans that forgot to grow. I had so many pairs. I used to have the Hawaiian shirts and the board shorts. You'd wear them all the time. Oh, yeah, no, I was a pedal pusher kind of gal.
Speaker 1:I wore one to a disco. I remember I had white sneakers, my denim pedal pushers. I did that, you like disco. I had my first kiss at the blue light. I think I snuck a few cruises in.
Speaker 1:Oh, you're too much. Well, we used to have discos because I went to an old girl's school and so when we'd have a disco we'd have it like with the boys' schools and it was the fucking horniest school going on, because we just didn't know what to do with ourselves. I mean, I had a brother, so I'm no numpty. We've got all these feelings coming out. So when you got dressed, you're like we're going to see them tonight. Oh, the good old days. So, yes, I am absolutely frothing off that series. I run to cook. Do you want to do a podcast about all the old days, like what we used to get up to? Yes, can we please? Because I just feel like life was fucking good, so good, so freaking good. Yeah, anyway, that's a good TikTok series actually.
Speaker 1:So what are your loves? Don't loves, don't loves. Are people free days? They just seem to pop up out of nowhere, especially when you're not prepped for them. Like, if you're mentally prepared, you're like okay, but when you do what you've done or I've done before and you're like oh what you slept in this morning, daddy. Anyway, I don't love pupil-free days. I used to love them when I was a kid and my loves.
Speaker 1:I've got a shut the door, put a candle on, fill it with Epsom salts and smelly stuff, turn the lights off and I just lay there for a good 45 minutes. I'm like why do I do this all the time? Did you put your AirPods in and just have like a bit of like a zona? I had some meditation music on. I felt like I was in a massage parlor and it was good. It was really good.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I love a good bath. You just start taking some time out and actually making the effort to do that self-care stuff. Here's a question for you In and out of the shower, quick, quick, you know whatever. Here's a question for you Is your bath long enough for you? Not really, not really. My legs, my tits and my knees out Something's cold. My feet were up on the edge. It wasn't very glamorous. Do you take wine in there? I'm mad for taking my red wine in there. No, I should have. I'm planning on doing that next week, because I'm just going to start doing this once a week. I love that.
Speaker 1:I had a great sleep, a nice sleep. So, yeah, that was me love, all right, well, we gotta wrap up and get going.
